William Morton
| William in Australia |
We know little more about William except that upon leaving Ireland , he became a sheep farmer and had at least two sons and two daughters. There have been few contacts with the Australian branch of the family: William’s daughters Eveline and Emily joined brother Edward’s family in the 1890’s; there is a reference to Australian Mortons visiting the family church in Tinahely, and mention of them in brother George’s obituary. The most concrete information to date is in Aunt Tat's will: she gave a tea set to Emily A. Morton (then, Mrs. C. Turner) of Haldon, Melbourne, Australia. Morton descendants still exist in Australia today.
