He was a sadler at Main St. (south side), Strabane, Co. Tyrone, Ulster, Ireland.[666],[667] He left a will in Feb 1780 at Strabane, Co. Tyrone, Ulster, Ireland; leaving his saddlery tools to his son Gabriel, his property to his son John.[668],[669]

ii. John Dunlap;[670],[670] born circa 1747 at Meetinghouse Street, Strabane, Co. Tyrone, Ulster, Ireland;[671],[672] died 27 Nov 1812 at Philidelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America.[671]

Around 1757, John was sent to his Uncle William Dunlap in Pennsylvania.[673] John printed the "Dunlap Broadsides", the first published copies of the Declaration of Independence, printed on the night of July 4, 1776.[674] "Not only did Dunlap print the Declaration of Independance: he supported it and fought for it; he acted as official printer to Congress during a crucial period of its existence; he printed the Constitution; and he established America's first successful daily newspaper and in the process made himself extremely wealthy."[675]
